Pagodas Blooming in Light
Ancient forms of aspiration are encountered anew through the colors and sensibilities of today.

Connecting the Grain of Time:
The Contemporary Blooming of Ancient Aspirations
My work is not simply about depicting religious symbols. Just as people once circled pagodas while offering their most earnest wishes, I build the universal sentiment of balwon—the act of wishing and wishing again—upon the surface through a contemporary language of color.
I translate the grandeur of the Buddhist cosmos into geometric patterns and vivid contrasts drawn from the five cardinal colors. Rather than presenting an obscure code to contemporary viewers, I hope these forms offer visual rest and renewed energy.
Through colors that are brilliant yet restrained, I speak of healing and aspiration. The masses of light and color drifting across the surface do not impose religious doctrine; they give visible form to the hope that lives within everyone.
